We’ve taken some of the timeliest topics from our 3-day retreat and adapted them for a half-day online training. The (Re)
STORE program uses Peer Recovery Specialists to facilitate trauma-informed training and recovery support for crime or
trauma survivors anywhere in Virginia. (Re)STORE adapts MHAV’s current recovery programming to help fill the gap in
community mental health recovery services for adults who have been affected by crime or are in recovery from trauma.
The goal is to facilitate ongoing recovery by using a strengths-based approach to empower individuals toward self-advocacy.
***4 hours of VCB-approved education***
Format: This half-day live Zoom training is free of charge and intended for Virginia crime and/or trauma survivors who
have not previously attended a MHAV webinar and/or an in-person (Re)STORE retreat. There will be a one hour break for
lunch. You must use a computer to attend. Space is limited.
Topics include: Trauma awareness, grief and loss, resilience, self-care
Facilitators: Heather Fossen, CPRS and Kevin Kelly, CPRS

Join Mental Health America of Virginia this September for its 2021 Victory for Mental Health celebration! This annual fundraising event will span over two weeks and will include a virtual art auction and awards ceremony.
The virtual art auction will be live from September 9th to September 23rd. It will feature creative work from a variety of both emerging and established artists for whom the art-making process helps sustain their mental wellness. We encourage you to show your support for mental health by bidding on your favorite pieces. All proceeds will benefit MHAV and the artist.
On the last day of the event, we will be airing the 2021 Advocacy Award announcement across all channels. This exciting video premiere will feature MHAV Board President, Anna Mendez, as she shares this year’s winners’ transformative victory for mental health in the Commonwealth.
If you wish to donate, please visit MHAV.org/donate to make a contribution. Thank you for supporting Mental Health America of Virginia. With your help, we are one step closer to achieving mental health for all Virginians.
